Ten of our athletes participated in the second race of four in the Meet and Train Winter League on Sunday 2nd December in a wet and chilly Swords. The warm welcome from Fingallians AC, a nice flat 2 mile course and excellent organisation by our own Sue Lynch more than made up for the dreary weather!

The race was an exciting one with Medbh Peavoy starting off in third flanked by 3 athletes from Sportsworld but she had moved into lead place by the end of half a lap and bravely held post for most of the race in spite of her lace coming undone! Unfortunately this time Medbh was overtaken in the final 50 metres by Sportsworld, eventually coming home in a very well deserved 2nd place.
