Welcome to the Donore Harriers’ website. As you progress through our site, you will learn about the club’s proud history, achievements and its athletes who have contributed so much over the last 114 years. You will be brought up to the present day, view its healthy present position in Irish athletics and get a glimpse of the future.
You will also see how much the club has changed both in composition and facilities over the years. Located in a modern new clubhouse on the banks of the river Liffey, in the scenic village of Chapelizod, it is a dream location for athletics of all standards. One hundred yards away, the magnificent Phoenix Park with its wide variety of terrain and running trails provides our members with superb training options.
We are a very busy club, competing during the winter in cross country and road events. This involves all ages from 10 - 80 and all standards.
The indoor season begins in January and involves many of our younger athletes but also our senior throwers, sprinters and middle distance athletes.
From April we are involved in Track and Field athletics, again for all ages and standards.
Our ladies also participate in Meet and Train athletics throughout the year.
It is not all about competition. Within the club we have groups and individuals who are fun runners, who like to go for a nice easy sociable run in The Phoenix Park, other members like to use our gym, working out on free weights or machines.
We have regular social events in our club lounge which will be posted on our web site. It is our intention to maintain a web site which will interest not just our club members at home and abroad but anyone interested in running and athletics.
