Dublin Cross Country Championships in Raheny

Well done to all our juvenile athletes who turned up in atrocious weather conditions in Raheny and put in in some very good performances. In the u10s,sprinter Robyn O 'Keeffe showed that she has plenty of talent on the country as well,  getting into the medals. Allanah Maxwell in her first ever race also showed good promise as did Lee McHenry who ran very well in the boys event. Bjorn Downes also made his first appearance in a Donore vest in the boys u.12 and ran very well. Claire O'Connor continued her improvement, also having her best ever run.The u14 boys ran well as a team. In the 16 boys, Eoin Meyler had an excellent run in 6th place followed closely by injury struck Philip McDonagh in 9th. The team was completed by Jason and Marcel in 24th and 26th positions.

A significant number of our athletes did not show up to run. We are disappointed at that. Parents should know that races do go ahead in bad weather and that there is an onus on our young members to take their place on teams if they have committed. Also each athlete who does not compete costs the club € 4 each. We are trying to have teams in races as Dublin team medals are very much sought after.

Date for Calendar - Next Sunday Uneven Age Championships
Next Sunday the uneven age Dublin Championships take place in Marley Park (top gate entrance) at 11 am . We would like to see all those whose names have been entered to get there. The names of all our athletes are on the white notice board on the bottom of the stairs. So please support your team mates on your team by competing. Parents, please remember that our club fund raiser fashion show is coming up on Friday 20th Nov and tickets are on sale from the office and coaches . We need to sell them as there are a very limited number available. If possible we would like to have them all pre -paid on the night.
