We had four athletes competing at the weekend in Northern Ireland at the National Juvenile Track and Field Championships at the Antrim Forum.
Megan Delaney making her debut at national level competed well in the javelin finishing ninth.
Grace Sheridan, competing in her fourth national events went well in the high jump but hit the bar at 1m35 cm going out earlier than usual. Grace was up again in the javelin and made the final round finishing a good 7th.
While Grace was throwing Ciara Grange had started her High Jump and even with the constant rain jumped 1m 35 cm getting a bronze medal to go with the silver she has from the national Indoors.
Before Ciara had finished John Travers went in the U18 3000m. He did all the work at the start leading for the bulk of the race. He lost some ground going into the second last lap but pulled it out of the bag with one of his trademark kicks from around 250m to go winning bronze right on the line.
Congratulations to the medal winners and all the athletes for reaching this level and representing the club so well.

On Saturday evening Irishtown provided the venue for an Irish Milers Club meet with a men's 3000m race and graded 1500m races staged for Men and Women. It was an entertaining night which got underway at 6pm with Mark Christie of Mullingar AC a convincing winner of the 3000m in 8.02.
The Ladies 1500m was up next and Donore's Adrienne Jordan gave us a thrilling race. Adrienne paced herself beautifully tucking in behind the pace maker and Aoife Brady of Sportsworld and ran an excellent final 300m, out sprinting Aoife to take victory in 4.37, just outside her PB.
Mark Dooley ran in the grade C 1500m race and also ran a great race, but leading into the last 150m he was caught to finish 4th in 4.12 a few seconds outside his PB of 4.09.
Well done to them both and to the IMC for an entertaining evening.
